About Me

I’m Laura Funk, famed scientist, explorer, and science communicator.  I’m  finishing up a master’s degree in communications with a specialty in science communication.  My bachelor’s degree is in biochemistry, and I have experience working as a programs presenter and exhibit designer/implementer at the Science Center of Iowa. At my current position at the Science Center of Iowa, Lead Resident Maker, I develop and lead “Making” themed workshops both for middle school students and families with young children.

I have a strong background in science as well as experience designing and building exhibits. Interpretation and presentation of material is one of my strengths.  I am looking for a job that allows me to use these skills to educate the public in STEM fields.
